Gina Liberta, Vice President

Gina Liberta is a proud New Yorker who calls Glendale, Queens home. A product of the NYC public school system, she carries the city’s grit, diversity, and resilience in everything she does. As the mother of a wonderful six-year-old in the Horizon Program at P.S. 91, she has been a passionate parent advocate from the very start of her child’s educational journey. As the oldest of four siblings, two who benefited from the special education programs, Gina learned early on to advocate for other’s needs.

Her commitment to equity in education runs deep, shaped by her experience as the daughter of immigrants and fueled by a belief that every child—regardless of background, ability, or circumstance—deserves opportunity, inclusion, and respect. She has chaired multiple committees advocating for the disabled, worked tirelessly with the neurodivergent community as a respite worker, community bilingual liaison, and advocate, and earned multiple citations recognizing her impact.

In her current role at Weill Cornell Medicine, she extends her advocacy beyond education, championing the rights and needs of marginalized communities. This work strengthens her resolve to break down barriers, amplify voices that are too often unheard, and ensure equity in every space

As a leader, she is fearless in standing up for children and families. Her platforms—anti-bullying initiatives, access to technology in all schools, increased parent engagement and support, and building strong networks for families—reflect both her vision and her heart. Now serving her first year as vice president of CEC 24, she is proud, determined, and hopeful about the difference she can make. She believes in diversity, equity, and creating neurodivergent-affirming spaces where all children can thrive. Her strong sense of advocacy is not just part of her role—it’s part of who she is.
